Do The Needles Hurt? What should I expect during treatment?
Most people agree that acupuncture is practically painless. The needles are (disposable) extremely thin. You may experience a vague numbness, heaviness, tingling, or dull ache. Sometimes you experience a sensation of chi (energy) spreading and moving around the needle with the meridians called “chi sensation”. All these reaction are sign that the treatment is working when it reaches the correct spot under the skin. It is important that the patient be relaxed and comfortable during treatment so the desired results can be attained.
Is Acupuncture Safe?
Acupuncture is a completely safe system with virtually “no side effects”. it is all-natural, drug-free therapy. After treatment, you may feel energized or experience a sense of relaxation and well-being.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments will vary from person to person depending on their constitution, severity of the condition, and duration of the health issues. Some people experience immediate relief, others could take much longer to get results. Chronic conditions usually take longer to resolve than acute conditions. During the initial examination, the acupuncture physician will do a complete health history intake including Chinese tongue and pulse diagnosis. after the examination, the physician will recommend the number of visits required for proper treatment.
